Representative of the Lord of the Manor of Bovey Tracey
This title is awarded annually in May, to any man or woman of the Parish, who in the opinion of the Town Council has made a significant contribution, for whatever reason, to the community of Bovey Tracey and Heathfield and should be publicly recognised for those actions. Any member or organisation of the Parish can make nominations for individuals to be considered for the award by the Town Council. Details of the nomination process will be advertised early in 2010.
Mr Ian Hutchings (seen here receiving his award from the Town Mayor – Cllr Dorreen Black) is currently the Representative of the Lord of the Manor for 2009/10. The title was awarded in recognition of the contributions made by Mr Hutchings to Bovey Tracey in recognition for his many voluntary contributions to the Parish. Ian has been particularly recognised for his voluntary work at the Swimming Pool, for the Carnival Committee and for introducing two defibrillators into the Town. Mr Hutcings nomination for this award was proposed by local residents Jenny Huxtable and Janet Shiston.
