Teignbridge District Council’s Draft Local Plan (Part 2) is the third step in updating the existing Local Plan which was adopted in May 2014. Within the next few years this plan, alongside the Local Plan Part 1 (which Teignbridge consulted on in March to July 2020), will replace the existing Local Plan in full.

The Draft Local Plan (Part 2) sets out options for where different types of development might be located over a 20-year period. The information included within the plan:

  • Shows all of the development options which are available for public comment
  • Provides information about each of the different options

It is crucial that residents, businesses, organisations and anyone living or working in Bovey Tracey familiarise themselves with the proposals for the parish and respond directly to the District Council’s consultation.

Cllr Robert Bradshaw, Chairman of Bovey Tracey Town Council’s Planning & Environment committee said “we have recognised since the adoption of the current Local Plan, that issues or concerns raised by the community, towards planning applications as they come forward is late in the process to deal with significant concerns, therefore now is the real opportunity to have a say on the development options proposed by Teignbridge”.   The Town Council’s committee, along with some residents has considered the proposed development options for the Parish and has formulated a draft response, if you wish to read the response prior to issuing your own feedback to the consultation, please see the download available on this page.

The plan consultation will close on the 9th August.  The proposals and consultation documents along with further details on how to comment are available via Teignbridge District Council’s website  https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/planning/local-plans-and-policy/local-plan-review-2020-2040/local-plan-review-part-2-site-options-consultation/
