    Bovey Tracey gets its name from the river that flows through the westerly edge of the town and the de Tracey family who ruled over the area following the Norman Conquest. The Climate and Environment Emergency

Bovey Tracey Town Council declared a climate emergency in July 2019 and has pledged to do whatever is in its power, working with residents, to make Bovey Tracey and Heathfield carbon neutral by 2025.
