Boreholes/exploration on Chudleigh Knighton Heath:

Sibelco UK is planning to put down four boreholes on the Heath located within the Parish of Bovey Tracey for exploration purposes to establish the depth of clay and its quality - whilst there will always be an option to quarry, Sibelco has advised that this is not envisaged in the next 10/15 years. Each borehole will take a week to do and will be done one at a time. Bridleways and footpaths won't be closed and there will be little disturbance to the heath. Drilling preparation work has begun this week (w/c 24th September) and the drilling rig should follow soon.
