Proposals for 20MPH Centre of Bovey Tracey
Back in February 2024 Bovey Tracey Town Council submitted an expression of interest to Devon County Council to be one of the funded 20 mph areas across the county. Before our submission we had consulted using an electronic questionnaire and received many comments, mostly supportive. Our proposed area included East St, Fore St and Station Road.
We have spotted that our bid was not successful so it won’t be happening for at least the next two years. We are disappointed as we believed it would improve the environment, and residents’ safety. We hope to find out from DCC the reasons, but we do know there were 169 expressions of interest and only six have been given the go ahead at this stage. We may consult again if there is sufficient interest at some future time.
Thank you again to all those who gave us feedback and comments. They were all really helpful.
